Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite…Our 2nd Wedding Anniversary

It’s our 2nd Wedding Anniversary and another year gone by with one extra day since it was a Leap Year, but who’s counting? Me, of course. I just love Da Hubs and if I had a chance to choose again, I would still choose him. Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite.

In the past year we have had some really good times and some sad times. We lost his mom, Judith, in December. So, beginning 2012 wasn’t easy and it took us a long while to get our smiles going again. We miss her with each day that passes and love her with all of our hearts. She was happy, feisty and had the most infectious laugh and the kindest heart of anyone I have known.

In March, we had to put down our almost 8 year old dog, Coco. She was mine before Da Hubs came into our lives, but quickly she became ours. She fell in love with him fast and deep. She wagged her tail like a maniac every time he came home from work and she gave him the most kisses even if he left the house for just 5 minutes. Now, before Da Hubs came along, I always, always, always, promised her a backyard, a home and a poppa that would love her. To my amazement all of those things came true for her and for me. We miss her very much and I haven’t stopped crying yet…

Now we are halfway through 2012 and smiles are slowly starting to fill our bruised and scarred hearts. We are beginning year three tomorrow and we are starting it off in memorable style. You may be thinking…How? What? Well, tomorrow will be a HUGE day at our house since it’s July 25th and I am declaring it Christmas in July!

What are we going to be doing? Well, we will be welcoming another four legged ball of fur into our hearts and home. We haven’t met him yet, but he is a rescue from Tennessee. We are hoping he arrives healthy and happy via trailer transport with all of the other pups. He is about 10 to 11 weeks old at this point and we’re going to call him Guinness since his coloring reminds us of the beer. He is a mix of Golden Retriever and Black Lab and just a hint of white on his paws. I can’t wait to spoil him as Da Hubs trains him. (*I am better at spoiling.)

*Here’s a pic of him from his adoption page.

So, with 5 more months to go until 2013, we are hoping for continued smiles, laughter and love. May the rest of your 2012 be filled with love and laughter from our home to yours!

Cheers & Woof!

PS…I am making some Guinness Brownies right now to celebrate his arrival!
